BMW SAIL RACING ACADEMY.

From amateur sailing to prestige regattas.

Within the BMW Yachtsport commitment, the BMW Sail Racing Academy forms the charming link between amateur sailing and the most prestigious yachting events in the Mediterranean. Born in 2005, the BMW Sail Racing Academy has a long tradition of imparting professional sailing techniques and successful racing strategies.
The program consists of a three day training slot in the highly desirable sailing destination Palma de Mallorca. The best participants will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in the Copa del Rey, one of the most prestigious regattas in the Mediterranean Sea.

2017 Special - Foiling Experience

Foiling: "One of the things you have to experience to feel it" (Jimmy Spithill, Skipper ORACLE TEAM USA).

In 2017, the BMW Sail Racing Academy will also address "the third dimension of sailing" and offer its first ever foiling module as part of the training programme.

Look forward to exciting content and your first "attempts at flying" off the wonderful coast of Palma de Mallorca under the guidance of our experienced trainers.

The BMW Sail Racing Academy is directed by Italian Pro Roberto Ferrarese, a winner of the Admiral’s Cup, several World & European Championships, and a three-time America’s Cup athlete. He says: "No doubt, theory and tactics are one main pillar of the BMW Sail Racing Academy, but in the end every second spent on the water increases your feeling for the boat and improves your way to excellence." Also integrated in the training programme are Ferrarese’s son Simone, a match racing specialist, multi-hull legend Loïck Peron and Markus Wieser, who is among the best in the world in a wide range of boat classes.
